Sagging Skin, Facial Lines, Undereye Bags and Hemorrhoid Cream
A quick, temporary fix for a big night out if you have forehead frown lines, loose upper arm skin, etc., areas you want to tighten up, apply Preparation H hemorrhoid cream which makes skin look taut and smooth, including areas with cellulite. Supermodels use this quick fix for all kinds of areas they want to depuff or tighten up. The one everyone’s heard of is applying it to undereye bags to eliminate puffiness. This is not a recent vogue technique, it's been around for decades. See other articles here under the catagory 'Preparation H Hemorrhoid Cream'. And for those wanting to know if Preparation H will reduce their belly fat or flatten their stomach... sorry, it won't do that much! The ingredient in hemorrhoid cream draws excess fluid out and tightens up top layers of skin but it won't affect the fat under your skin. Your only options for reducing your belly is diet and exercise-or liposuction which is expensive, painful and invasive.

The effectiveness of Preparation H on under eye bags depends on what is causing the bags. Preparation H works by absorbing excess fluid within the skin that causes the bags, but if your bags are a result of fatty deposits under the skin-no, it will not work on that, it doesn't penetrate through the skin where the fat layers are, and it does not absorb fat. It will have a tightening effect as well which is helpful in the appearance of loose skin under the eyes but keep in mind Preparation H can be drying and using it often could result in crepey looking skin under your eyes instead-you'd be trading one problem for another. It's use should be restricted to occasional use for a special event and the results it produces are only temporary, not permanent. For long term treatment of undereye bags, get plenty of sleep, eat good balanced meals, avoiding all junk foods and soda, drink as much water as you can, keep the skin under your eyes hydrated with an oil free moisturizer containing exfoliating ingredients like AHA or Retinol. Sometimes, sleeping with your head elevated helps prevent bags in the morning since having your head low can cause fluid buildup. Sleeping with heavy skin cream around your eyes can also create puffy eyes. Placing cold tea bags over your eyes are also a good remedy for puffy eyes. If the bags are fat deposits, there is not much you can do except have a surgeon remove them and they typically are hereditary. Hope that explains more for you!

Does PreparationH help to minimize stretch marks?

Beauty and the Budget said...

As for treating stretch marks with Preparation H, it will not do much but take puffiness or swelling away and tighten the surface skin, and stretch marks are more or less "scars" from skin damage due to rapid weight change and skin stretching too fast (like in pregnancy) resulting in skin tissue "tearing" of sorts and then healing leaving scar tissue. Laser treatments can help but that's very costly. Prevention is best- If you get pregnant or are gaining weight fast, be sure to use plenty of cocoa butter based creams to help keep skin soft, pliable and flexible so it won't damage as much as it stretches.

Will Preparation H help crows feet on the eye area?

Beauty and the Budget said...

Since Preparation H draws excess fluid from the skin and tightens it up, it will result in being somewhat drying to the skin and you don't want that when you're dealing with crow's feet which will appear worse with dry skin. Instead you want to plump the skin up with moisturizers to keep skin supple and preferably use a cream with nutrients that will help ward off wrinkling like vitamin C, E, retinol, etc. Most important, make sure you use sunscreen daily as prevention so the crows feet don't get worse and wear sunglasses so you don't squint and create the lines!

Can Preparation H help reduce the appearance of spider veins? I have a few on my nose I would love to see gone!

No sorry, Preparation H cannot make spider veins disappear. A dermatologist or plastic surgeon can use a quick laser treatment that will make them go away-but can be somewhat costly. You could try a creme that contains vitamin K which helps work on the blood vessels-it may or may not work... Prevention is key so they don't get worse: be gentle to skin, don't squeeze zits or blackheads on your nose, don't use too hot water and always wear sunscreen at all times. Spider veins on the face could also be a case of rosacea which is a whole different story-there is no cure for it and it can continue to worsen but it is treatable. A doctor can confirm if that is the case or not. I do recommend being treated if you have rosacea since it can get quite bad for some people and also cause bumpy skin, acne type bumps under the skin and a red flushed face along with the broken blood vessels. It typically shows up in people that are in their 30s or older... my book also outlines some natural treatments you can use for rosacea and are worth trying first if you don't want to spend money on medical treatments.
